The Elder Scrolls Online: Wolfhunter DLC Arrives

Published

on

Fans of The Elder Scrolls Online have been keeping busy this summer with the recent Summerset release, and now that have the the newly announced Wolfhunter DLC, which will be free to all ESO Plus members as well as available to purchase for regular members, will bring even more to the table in July.

Some of the things arriving with the new DLC is new Battlegrounds map, alterations to the Alliance War, and more.

“When decreed by Hircine, the Daedric Prince hosts the Great Hunt within his realm. In March of Sacrifices, you and your team must escape Hircine’s Hunting Grounds, a place of perpetual conflict between predator and prey, by participating in his dangerous game. Your target: A powerful Indrik. Your rewards: A boon from the Daedric Prince himself.”

“In the second dungeon, an ancient werewolf of incredible power named Vykosa has captured Moon Hunter Keep and destroyed the Order of the Silver Dawn’s garrison. Now, Vykosa draws more and more of Tamriel’s were-beasts to her cause, and she has begun to amass a monstrous army.

You and your team must enter the once-proud headquarters of the Order, battle your way through hordes of were-beasts and other monsters, make your way to the heart of the keep, and confront Vykosa herself before she threatens all of Tamriel.”

“This new arena is located along Cyrodiil’s southwest border, and features fortified stone structures and walls that should seem familiar to those who fight in the Alliance War. Istirus Outpost, however, has some unique twists that set it apart from other arenas. Firstly, the map is only semi-symmetrical, meaning how you navigate the arena will differ depending on your team. In previous Battlegrounds, each team has been able to move around the arena more-or-less the same way, but now you must develop your map knowledge early to ensure you can navigate it as quickly as possible.”

“Update 19 also shakes up the open-world PvP of the Alliance War with the addition of Keep Recall Stones. These new items give you and your fellow warriors the ability to traverse Cyrodiil like never before. Finally, Update 19 reintroduces keep degradation and condenses both the levels for Keeps and Resources. With these changes, it is as important as ever to capture Resources, giving small group or solo players meaningful ways to contribute to the war. Keep an eye out for new AvA and Battlegrounds rewards, too, including the Gladiator costume and all-new Battlegrounds Outfit styles!”

Respec 2.0

  • With Update 19, you are able to make smaller, more precise changes to your Skills thanks to the updated respec system. With this update, when you reset your Skill Points, you are able to remove Skills individually and are not forced to re-add all of them from scratch, much like how you respec your Champion Points. You can clear all your Skill Points like normal if desired, but this new system will mean that if you only want to make a small change to your character’s Abilities, you can!

Werewolves Updated

  • If you have a character that carries the curse of lycanthropy, you can enjoy a series of broad improvements and changes to how the Werewolf Skill Line plays with Update 19. These changes place an emphasis on improving their ferocity and momentum in combat, and they affect both the Skill Line’s Passive and Active Abilities. For example, the Blood Rage Passive will now increase the duration of your transformation when you deal damage instead of when you take it, and the Roar Active Ability is now instant cast.

Overwatch 2

Blizzard is leveling up their efforts to thwart cheaters and misconduct within Overwatch 2, as the company aims to penalize players who are friends with cheaters and will amp up their monitoring of voice communications.

The company detailed this in the brand new update for its Defense Matrix Initiative, which is focused on curbing “gameplay sabotage, abusive chat, and cheating” stating their plan to come down on players who team up with cheaters, and more.

Blizzard admitted that cheating in Overwatch 2 is a problem and has “actioned over 50,000 accounts” since the game launched and starting in Season 3 they will be actively identifying players that purposely team up with players who are regularly flagged as cheaters, and will also face potential discipline.

Overwatch 2 will also have improved protection for streamers, as the issue of Stream sniping continues to be a problem, and in Season 3 they will be “introducing new streaming protection features that should be a huge step toward enabling content creators to share Overwatch 2 with their fans safely.”

Blizzard is encouraging players to report any disruptive or problematic behaviour in their matches.

EA and Respawn Entertainment is shutting down their Apex Legends mobile game with the company announced that they will be sunsetting the title this May with EA adding that they have also stopped development on a mobile Battlefield title.

According to Respawn Entertainment, the decision to sunset Apex Legends was not an easy one to make but the company said that “factors” beyond its control have prevented it from “maintaining the high-quality experience and content” players deserve and expect.

Despite the game having a rather strong start, Respawn said that the content pipeline for the game began to “fall short of that bar for quality, quantity, and cadence.”

EA announced that they made the decision to halt the Battlefield mobile title as they wish to create “deeply connected Battlefield ecosystem” which made them arrive at the decision to “pivot from the current direction”

“We remain highly committed to unlocking Battlefield’s enormous potential,” the company said in the statement. “We’re hard at work at evolving Battlefield 2042 and are in pre-production on our future Battlefield experiences at our studios across the globe.”
