  • Epic rarity
  • Reduced environmental damage from 150 to 100.
  • Legendary rarity

  • Fixed an issue that was causing explosive splash damage to be blocked when players didn’t actually have cover.

Gameplay

  • Added Pop-Up Cup settings to default playlists
  • We’re introducing a few larger changes into the default Fortnite playlist as a test. We’ve seen these settings in pop-up cups result in more engaging fights and allowing players to gain more consistent rewards for the risk of engagement.
  • Based on the positive feedback we received during these specific Pop-Up cups, we’re implementing the following adjustments:
  • 50 Health (or Shield) based on your health when the Elimination occurs.
  • 50/50/50 materials dropped on Elimination
  • 500/500/500 Cap on materials
  • Harvest rate increased by 40%
  • We’ll be closely monitoring feedback on this change – play a couple matches and let us know what you think!
  • Removed the ability for the X4 Stormwing to break through structures and large objects.
  • Small props will still be destroyed from direct hit from an X4 Stormwing.
  • Changes to Ziplines
  • Ziplines are now interact to engage.
  • Ziplines grant fall damage immunity.
  • Ziplines now have an audio visualizer icon.
  • Final Circle adjustments
  • Increased the travel distance by 48%.
  • Shrink time has been increased from 45 seconds to 75 seconds.
  • PC, Mac, and console players can now crouch while in Edit Mode.
  • Gamepad players can assign this through custom gamepad controls.
  • Note: This functionality is coming to mobile soon.
  • Turbo Building
  • Reduced the initial timer for turbo building from 0.15 to 0.05.
  • Added the ability to swap the item in the currently selected slot with a new item by holding interact instead of tapping.
  • Added UI text to show players they’re able to use swap.
  • Not available on touch input.
  • Floor traps will automatically build a floor piece for you if needed. You must have the required resources.
  • Logitech and Razer RGB peripherals will now react when doing emotes.
  • Sneaky Snowmen will be destroyed if they fall from a high distance.
  • Stand on the head of a Sneaky Snowman to avoid fall damage.
  • Removed HUD bar for the minigun overheating mechanic.
  • Adjusted the distance of the Bottle Rocket sound indicators so that they match the max distance of the sound effects.
  • Added a Bottle Rocket sound indicator for the explosion of rockets.
  • Aim Assist “Snap-To” Adjustments
  • We’ve added a compounding time delay to the aim assist “snap-to” feature when spamming the Aim Down Sight button. Each button press after the first will apply a time delay, up to 5 seconds, before the aim assist “snap-to” effect is applied.
  • We are making this change to prevent situations where players would spam the Aim Down Sight button on enemies, which caused the crosshair to stay locked on to targets indefinitely.
  • This change should prevent the lock-on mechanic from being abused while retaining the same Aim Assist feel. We’ll be closely monitoring feedback about this change.
  • Fixed an issue where Bottle Rockets would not align to specific slope angles.
  • Cozy Campfire logs no longer block movement.
  • Prevent weapon auto-reload from canceling emotes.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed traps to trigger through lab tunnel walls in Dusty Divot.
  • Fixed auto pickup not occurring when landing from skydiving.

  • Fixed an issue that would block building beneath a mounted turret.
  • Fixed an issue where Snowmen placed on the map would appear invisible or under the map.

  • This value limits the amount of time a player can wait for a match in a tournament before they create the best match possible at that time.
  • Increased the minimum amount of players for tournament matches from 80 to 90.

Fortnite’s B.R.U.T.E Mech Officially Nerfed

Published

on

Fortnite

Finally, Fortnite has nerfed the highly-powerful B.R.U.T.E mech that was introduced during the launch of Season 10.

The nerf will likely delight a number of fans, who have been calling for the mech’s removal as the mech has been almost unstoppable, and has altered gameplay tremendously when in play.

While it’s not a removal, it will make the mech a less over-powering force when in gameplay.

Additionally, the Junk Rift has been disabled in FNCS tournament and Arena playlists.

Here are the details

B.R.U.T.E.

  • Decreased the maximum amount of rockets fired by the B.R.U.T.E. in a single charge from 10 to 6.
  • Decreased the rate at which the rockets are fired from the B.R.U.T.E. by 56%.
  • Our goal with these changes is to increase the back and forth between the users of the B.R.U.T.E. and the players they face. These changes allow the players on the receiving end of the missile volley to have more time to react and protect themselves.
  • Decreased the radius of the B.R.U.T.E.’s rocket explosion by 42%.
  • Our goal with this change is to improve consistency and understanding around focused barrages of missiles. B.R.U.T.E.s will continue to be a strong option against structures, but less lethal against players.
  • Increased the dash cooldown from 3 seconds to 5 seconds.
  • The previous dash cooldown not only increased the B.R.U.T.E.’s mobility, but also made the B.R.U.T.E.s a harder target to hit from distance than we’d like. The adjustment here reduces the ability to close gaps quickly while in the B.R.U.T.E. while also increasing the ability to land shots on target for players facing the B.R.U.T.E.
  • Decreased the velocity gained from boosting while in air by 33%.
  • We want to reduce a B.R.U.T.E.’s ability to engage and disengage at long distances to encourage a more strategic approach to an encounter. In general we hope to shift B.R.U.T.E.s away from being highly mobile and put more emphasis on their already defensive nature.
  • The B.R.U.T.E. no longer grants materials to the driver and passenger when stomping or dashing through the environment.
  • Note: This change should roll out shortly following the other changes.
  • Our goal is to add more tension between being in and out of a B.R.U.T.E. as well as reduce instances where players can farm faster than intended without exposing themselves to danger.
  • Adjusted the variability of spawn rates for storm phases 1, 2, and 3 in core modes. Arena spawn rates will remain unchanged.
  • Previously, the early stages of a match were guaranteed a minimum amount of B.R.U.T.E.s. We’d like to provide a little more variance to that experience so that matches don’t always play out the same way. The overall average number of B.R.U.T.E.s per game is reduced slightly.
  • Decreased the material cost of using the gunner’s overshield from 200 to 75.
  • Our goal is to further emphasize use of materials for positive defensive benefit.
  • Increased the Health of the B.R.U.T.E from 1000 to 1250.
  • With the above changes, users of the B.R.U.T.E. need to play a bit more strategic than before, so we want to give a little bit longer of a window to do so.

Fortnite

A brand new update for Fortnite rolled out yesterday and v10.10 adds Retail Row Rift Zone and World Run LTM, among others.

Fortnite: Battle Royale

World Run LTM

  • Team Type: Squads | Respawning: On
  • 16 Players.
  • 4 Teams.
  • The team to collect 30 coins fastest wins.
  • In the event that two teams collect the same amount of coins, the team that was faster will win.

Weapons and items

  • Unvaulted only in the Sword Fight Squads and Duos LTMs:
  • Infinity Blade
  • Reduced the environmental damage from 10000 to 600.
  • Increased the number of resource stacks contained in Chests in Tilted Town from 1 to 3.
  • B.R.U.T.E. updates:
  • Added a targeting laser that appears as players load and fire missiles.
  • In addition to the B.R.U.T.E.’s gunner, this laser is visible to opponents and teammates.
  • This is to help give clarity to all players on where a gunner is aiming their rockets before they’re fired.
  • Improved visual and audio feedback during the self-destruct sequence.
  • B.R.U.T.E.s can now be entered directly from glider mode.
  • Updated B.R.U.T.E. spawn logic for large team respawn game modes.
  • B.R.U.T.Es will now spawn intermittently throughout the match instead of waiting for Storm phases to end.
  • B.R.U.T.E.s abandoned in the Storm will self-destruct after 30 seconds.
  • B.R.U.T.E.s will reappear on the minimap after 15 seconds if no player is in either seat.
  • Fixed an issue in which opponents’ B.R.U.T.E.s would sometimes not be visible.
  • B.R.U.T.E.s can no longer be used to traverse the map faster than intended.
  • The turn rate of B.R.U.T.E.’s turret is no longer framerate-dependent.

Gameplay

  • Retail Row
  • A Rift Zone has replaced the Mega Mall POI with Retail Row.
  • Retail Row now spawns hordes of Fiends who charge at players.
  • Fiends may drop a weapon, consumable, or ammo upon being eliminated.
  • Fiends cannot go outside the Retail Row Rift Zone.
  • Chests and ammo containers will now open when destroyed.
  • Known issue: Destroying a Chest or ammo container by destroying the object it is placed on will not open it.
  • We plan to have this issue resolved in the v10.20 update.
  • Bug Fixes
  • The Week 1 and Week 2 Hidden Battle Stars can now be collected.
  • Fixed an issue in which the Bush would reset its displayed equip timer if the player tried to activate it multiple times. (Players would still be able to equip the Bush at the intended time, but the displayed timer would be incorrect.)
  • Fixed an issue in which Supply Drop smoke would not appear if the box was not in sight.
  • Trees no longer turn into different kinds of trees upon being damaged.
  • This includes snow-covered trees no longer turning into non-snow-covered trees.
  • Fixed an issue in which Chests would sometimes already be broken or opened at the start of a match.
  • The “Welcome to Tilted Town” message no longer loops when players enter/exit Titled Town. It also no longer overlaps Storm warnings.
  • Walking over in-motion Bottle/Fancy Flip Toys no longer causes a camera issue.

Events

  • Pushed a fix on August 5 to address an Arena matchmaking issue causing players to be matched within a wider Hype range than intended.
  • Because players are now matched within a narrower Hype range, some players may experience longer queue times. This is to ensure higher-quality matches.

Playground

  • Fixed an issue involving Chests being unopenable in Tilted Town.

Performance

  • Further improved performance to reduce the chance of players landing on POIs with a low level of detail.

Art and animation

  • Plastic Patroller Outfit Visual Update
  • Added mud smears, wear and tear, and a brighter outline.
  • These changes were added to prevent this Outfit from providing a camouflage effect in certain areas of the map, which was making it very difficult to see.
  • All players who previously purchased this Outfit will have the option to refund it without using a Refund Token if they choose to do so.
  • Note: This refund option will be available for 30 days, with the timer starting after your next login.
  • Updated the Mecha Team Leader Outfit’s idle animation to its original version.
  • Improved the visuals of the Emotical Wrap on weapons.

Audio and UI

  • Enabled reverb on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
  • Contextual Tutorial System
  • A tip system designed to help guide and teach players new to Battle Royale.

  • Battle Map no longer switches to a third-person view when the Battle Bus launches.
  • Disabled Squad visibility option in Battle Map when viewing a Solo match.

  • Safe zone will be respected on iOS X devices on the Battle Pass page.
  • Auto fire will now be applied to players with a Bush equipped.
  • Teammates and Quickbar HUDs will be displayed when spectating.
  • “Quit” button has been removed on the log out screen.
  • A single tap is needed to open the Map after it has been closed with ”X” at the top of the screen.
  • “Push To Talk” button is back while on the Battle Bus.
