Fortnite: Disco Domination Mode Coming Soon

Fortnite’s Message of the Day on October 1st promoted a new Limited Time Mode that is bringing back disco! Okay, maybe not entirely, but disco won’t remain dead in the Fortnite world.

In Disco Domination LTM, players will have to capture and defend Dance Floors scattered around the island, and will need to use their emojis to earn points. It is expected to arrive in this week’s weekly update so get ready to bust out those dancing shoes and hit the disco floor once more.

Fortnite Patch v7.10 Nerfs X-4 Stormwing Plane

With the rollout of Fortnite’s new patch, patch v7.10, which has been delayed, there will be a nerf going down!

The nerf is for the X-4 Stormwing plane, which has an explosive damage was set at 25, but it is believed that it will be doubled with the upcoming update.

Here are some more details:

  • Stormwings now take 50% more damage from hitting objects.
  • Boosting now reduces the damage taken from impacts by 50%, previously boosting prevented all impact damage.
  • Damage done to players that are in a Stormwing when it’s shot down has been increased from 25 to 50
  • Damage is dealt directly to health.
  • Stormwings will now take more damage from destroying structures by running through them.
  • Fixed some performance issues with the Stormwing which could lead to reduced frame rate and movement corrections.

Additionally, Driftboard will no longer be included in the update, which is still scheduled to drop today.

Epic Games Releases Roadmap of Cross-Platform Game Service for Developers

Epic Games is planning to release a suite of cross-platform services that they intend to be free for all developers, releasing a roadmap of their plans.

Epic announced on Wednesday that a free service which supports cross-platform play across all major platforms “to the full extent each platform allows per-title.”

“At Epic, our goal is to help game developers succeed. Throughout 2019, we’ll be launching a large set of cross-platform game services originally built for Fortnite, and battle-tested with 200,000,000 players across 7 platforms. These services will be free for all developers, and will be open to all engines, all platforms, and all stores. As a developer, you’re free to choose mix-and-match solutions from Epic and others as you wish.”

Here is the roadmap:

  • Cross-Platform Login, Friends, Presence, Profile, and Entitlements (coming Q2-Q3 2019 to PC, other platforms throughout 2019): Provides the core functionality for persistently recognizing players across multiple sessions and devices; identifying friends; and managing free and paid item entitlements. This will support all 7 major platforms (PC, Mac, iOS, Android, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch) to the full extent each platform allows per-title.
  • PC/Mac Overlay API (coming Q3 2019): Provides a user interface for login, friends, and other features in a game-agnostic, engine-agnostic way.
  • Cross-Platform Voice Comms (coming Q3 2019 to all platforms): Epic is building a new in-game voice communications service supporting all platforms, all stores, and all engines, which will be available for free. (For developers needing an immediately-available voice solution, check out Discord, Vivox, TeamSpeak, Ventrilo, and Mumble.)
  • Cross-Platform Parties and Matchmaking (coming Q3-4 2019 to all platforms)
  • Cross-Platform Data Storage, Cloud-Saved Games (coming Q2 2019)
  • Cross-Platform Achievements and Trophies (coming Q3 2019)

Blizzard Working On Pokemon Go Style Warcraft Game

Are you ready to bring the Warcraft experience to the next level? Well, Blizzard reportedly is, and they have their eyes targeting something rather big outside of the development of Diablo immortal, according to a recent report from Kotaku.

Amid the widespread backlash from fans over the Diablo Immortal title, Blizzard is reportedly working on a World of Warcraft game that’s loosely based on the insanely popular concept of Pokémon Go that has been a constant force in the gaming community over the past few years.

Blizzard is yet to give a release date for Diablo Immortal, but news of a plan in the works for a mobile version WoW game seems incredibly exciting.
