Minecraft Rolls Out Phase 2 Of Aquatic Update

Minecrafts’s Aquatic update on Xbox One, Windows 10, mobile, Oculus and Switch comes with a lot of new things, such as bubble columns, a new mob, turtles (yes, turtles) and more.

Here is a full rundown of the update:

Minecraft Aquatic Update – Phase Two features

General

  • Realms are now available on Nintendo Switch
  • The Drowned – These dangerous, underwater zombies lurk in dark, deep water and will come up to the shore at night
  • Sea Turtles – These gentle creatures can be found swimming in oceans and tanning on beaches. Protect their eggs so more can hatch!
  • Turtle Shell and Scute items
  • Potion of the Turtle Master
  • Nautilus Shells – Can be found while fishing or held by the Drowned
  • Conduits can now be constructed underwater and give players the Conduit Power effect. Craft them with Nautilus Shells & Heart of the Sea
  • Bubble Columns – Magma Blocks create downward flowing columns and Soul Sand creates upward flowing bubbles
  • New Achievements!
  • Added new commands that only affect worlds with Education Edition enabled: 1. /ability – Sets a player’s ability 2. /immutableworld – Sets the immutable state of the world 3. /worldbuilder – Toggle World Builder status of caller

Changes

  • Changed the menu background to be themed for Update Aquatic
  • Undead mobs will now sink in water and can walk on the bottom
  • Improved the steering of Boats when using keyboard and mouse by pressing W to move forward and S to reverse
  • Dolphins can now be given Raw Fish or Raw Salmon and will swim towards the nearest Ocean Ruins or Shipwreck
  • Husks that have sunk in water will now transform into Zombies and Zombies will transform into Drowned
  • Skeleton Horses can now be ridden underwater
  • Skeletons and Strays will switch from ranged to melee attacks while underwater and switch back when out of water
  • Coral blocks will no longer die as long as one side is touching water
  • Improved player swimming at the surface of water
  • Tridents can now be enchanted with Mending and Unbreaking
  • Added an animation when using Riptide in first person perspective
  • Slightly decreased the friction of Blue Ice
  • Updated the texture of the top of Kelp
  • Updated the texture of Cooked Fish
  • Updated the Riptide spin texture
  • Default Field of View has been reduced from 70 to 60 and can be adjusted in Video Settings
  • Tridents will no longer break blocks in Creative mode
  • The Inventory button has been moved to the top of the Store page

Fortnite: v7.10 Introduces Suppressed Sniper Rifle and Popshot Shotgun

Fortnite has rolled out a brand new update and it comes with the addition of the Suppressed Sniper Rifle, Popshot Shotgun, and a new community creation called at The Block.

Along with the Popshot Shotgun, the Santa’s Little Helper missile launcher will be available in Save the World.

Limited Time Modes

14 Days of Fortnite has been extended for a limited time! For the next week, drop in and complete any Challenges you may have missed out on to earn in-game rewards. We’ll also be featuring some of the most popular Limited Time Modes that have been available over the past two weeks. Log in each day to find out which modes are available to explore.

Weapons and items

  • Suppressed Sniper Rifle added.
  • Available in Epic and Legendary variants.
  • Can be found from chests, floor loot, Vending Machines, and Supply Drops.
  • A single shot, scoped sniper rifle.
  • The suppressor makes for a quieter shot, trading stealth for power.
  • Deals 100/105 base damage
  • Six Shooter has been vaulted.
  • The following variants of the Burst Assault Rifle have been vaulted:
  • Uncommon, Common, Rare
  • Dual Pistols have been unvaulted.
  • Dynamite drop rate reduced by 40%.
  • Boom Box adjustments:
  • Drop rate reduced by 33%.
  • Health reduced from 600 to 400.
  • Duration reduced from 25 seconds to 18 seconds.

Gameplay

  • X-4 Stormwing adjustments:
  • The knockback a player receives after being hit by a Stormwing has been decreased by 70%.
  • Damage done to the Stormwing from colliding with structures has been increased by 50%.
  • Impact damage reduction while boosting through structures reduced from 50% to 25%
  • Increased the spread of the Stormwing machine gun by 75%.
  • Stormwing spawn chance has been decreased to 80% from 100%.
  • Supply Drop health has been reduced to 250/500/750 (Solo/Duo/Squad).
  • The X-4 Stormwing is no longer able to fly above the max build limit.

Creative

Weapons and items

Blast through enemies with this rapid firing shotgun! Get your very own by completing Frostnite Challenges.

Weapons and items

  • Santa’s Little Helper will be available in the Weekly Store
  • Launches explosive presents that damage and knockback groups of enemies. Does not consume ammo, but has very low durability.
  • Available from January 9 at 7 PM ET until January 16 at 7 PM ET.
  • The Popshot Shotgun will be available as a Frostnite Weekly Challenge reward
  • A rapid firing low capacity semi-auto shotgun

Missions and systems

  • Weekly Frostnite Challenge 2: Burn Bright
  • Time between enemy waves is drastically reduced. Use your time wisely!

Alien: Blackout Officially Announced for Mobile

A brand new survival horror game, set in space, is heading to mobile devices in the near future.

Alien: Blackout may sound a bit disappointing for fans who were hoping for a console release instead of mobile, but the return of Amanda Ripley and a renewed approach at being more of a squad shooter can be appealing.

According to the synopsis:

“The terror of Alien is brought to life in ‘Alien: Blackout.’ Try to stay alive while trapped aboard a crippled Weyland-Yutani space station carrying a deadly Xenomorph as it tirelessly hunts you and the crew. Outsmart the perfect hunter by making perilous choices. Players must rely on the damaged controls of the space station or risk sacrificing crew members to avoid deadly contact, permanently altering the outcome of the game.

Survive seven fear-inducing levels by remotely guiding Amanda Ripley’s crew through increasingly challenging tasks using only the station’s emergency systems. The uncertainty and unpredictability of both the alien and her crew can impose total defeat for Amanda and the entire station.”

Fortnite Is Covered in Snow During Latest Update

Fortnite has covered their entire map in snow, which was implemented in their latest update, and helps celebrate the holiday season.

While Epic Games kept the update tight lipped, it’s been a welcome surprise, one that has had many people taking to social media to share their surprise.
