Destiny 2 Update Schedule Detailed

Published

on

Bungie is putting in a lot of work to improve Destiny 2 after a very challenging and rather damaging 6-month period that has seen gamers flock from the once-popular franchise and has even some returning to the original Destiny.

Destiny game director Christopher Barrett recently penned a post outlining Bungie’s plans for Destiny 2 in 2018 and now the studio has provided more details on what’s in store for Destiny 2 in what is an increasingly important year for the franchise.

“Everything you’ll find below will be delivered to every player of Destiny 2,” said Barrett, explaining that Destiny 2 owners will get the updates regardless of whether they’ve purchased Curse of Osiris or future expansions. He also noted that “there are larger projects in development,” which is perhaps a reference to systemic changes to systems like consumable shaders and the Eververse microtransaction store — neither of which is mentioned in the roadmap.

This is the Destiny 2 Development Roadmap, as of January 31st, 2018:

Earlier this week,  Bungie released its first major update of the year (1.1.3) which included Masterwork armor and revised elements such as raid rewards and the next big update is set for February 27th.

That update  will add strike scoring to the Nightfall strikes and Bungie is aiming to add unique rewards for Nightfall strikes in what is considered a “stretch goal” for February’s update.
